SIGNED. 433pp. Octavo [21.5 cm] 1/4 black cloth with decorative blue paper covered boards, and a gilt stamped title and gilt ruled lines on the spine. Publisher's blue top stain. The spine is rolled. The inside margins of the preliminary pages are a bit discolored. In a dust jacket, with toning to the rear panel, light rubbing and chipping to the edges, and an open tear to the bottom of the spine that measures approx' 1 inch wide by 1 inch deep. Originally titled "Sabrina." The story follows the infidelity and moral disintegration of an "independent woman of the twentieth century." Colberg #A15.1.a. This copy is signed by Wallace Stegner on the title page, and is additionally inscribed by Stegner on the front free endpaper.
