THE CHILDREN IN THE WOOD has been retold numerous times over the centuries, including in a large number of chapbooks. This Degen & Estes edition, printed in Boston, takes the design of its woodcut illustrations directly from a Mahlon Day edition of the same title, printed in New York. 4'' x 2.5''. Original blue pictorial wrappers, saddle-stitched. Seven woodcut illustrations. 12 pages, with [2] blank leaves to rear and ads to rear wrapper. Wrapper with a bit of edgewear. Sound and clean.
