INSCRIBED (to Los Angeles progressive political activist Frank Wilkinson) and SIGNED by the author on the ffep. A "super-patriotic satire" about a self-styled "General" who "recruits a citizens' militia called COUNTERFORCE to defend Southern California against a rumored sneak attack across the Mexican border by one hundred thousand Red Chinese 'suicide troops.'" Cooley was a radio news broadcaster who also became one of the first full-time TV producers, beginning in 1937 on the Don Lee Broadcasting System’s Experimental Station, W6XAC in Los Angeles.
