He was a leading architect at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris, at the Hungarian Pavillion; from 1902 to 1911 he worked at Budapest design studios, with Ignác Alpár and his brother László Vágó. They built several important public buildings as well as did interior and furniture design. . Vágó is the subject of a 2003 monograph: Jozsef Vago 1877-1947.
