United States, 1945. Very good. Some light toning, water staining.. A 12 pp. stapled booklet (9.75" by 7") of drinking songs popularized by servicemen in WWII, titled "The Charlie Song Book: Primitive Songs for Primitive Men". It is "dedicated to the temporary wives, sweethearts, and loved ones" (front). Includes a wood cut of a soldier drinking and smoking a cigar on the front, and a wood cut of two servicemen stumbling out of an Italian bar late at night on the back. The lyrics for twenty bawdy and nostalgic songs are featured, including "Show me the way to go home", which later generations would encounter in the movie "Jaws" as the song Captain Quint sings while reminiscing about his time in the War. Not in OCLC (April 2022).
