First edition of this training manual for officers in the French Royal Army. At the time of this publication the author was an infantry Captain. He later became a General and served as Minister of War under Napoleon I. The fine plates show military forts, battle tactics, weapons, etc. Note: The "Rochelambert" who has signed both titles is quite possibly Henri de la Rochelambert (1789-1863), French military officer and Senator.
