A letter from Wilson to Hazel Ufford appears in 'Letters on Literature and Politics', together with this quotation by Wilson (from a letter to John Peale Bishop in 1928): "Her name is Hazel Ufford … She is a girl who lived near me last summer, when I was living in O'Neill's old Coast Guard station near Provincetown. She is very young and very pretty, and she has quite a remarkable literary gift, as yet in rather an immature state.
