Fred Schwarzkopf's copy (social activist), with his name rubberstamped on front cover, and he has made a small notation on cover (two small red ink numbers). Schwarzkopf, a Jewish socialist, was born in Austria in 1895. He emigrated to Bridgeport, Connecticut at age three, joined the Socialist Party in 1914, worked as a carpenter, and was a secretary in the Carpenter's Union.
