Among them Ansel Adams, Minor White, James E. Durrell, Jr., Paul Caponigro, Gene Saunders, and Beaumont Newhall, the director of Eastman House. A handwritten note from Gene Saunders laid in presenting the catalogue's recipient a portrait of Ansel Adams drinking soup, signed, dated, and titled by Saunders on the back, “sketch photo of Ansel Adams which I shot of him while he was lunching here”.

This was the second publication of George Eastman House under Beaumont Newhall's direction to coincide with a major exhibition of the collection.
