Boston, Massachusetts: Timothy Davis & Co.'s Line, 1853. Fine; tape repairs to verso.. Bill of lading for "Romance of the Sea", one of several clipper ships owned by the Timothy Davis & Co.'s Line out of San Francisco, California. This particular clipper was launched November 15, 1853, and would mysteriously disappear en route to San Francisco after leaving Hong Kong in 1863. Printed bill of lading (8.5" by 10.5"), completed in ink manuscript and stamped with official T.D. & Co. red ink stamp.
