Beige cloth, some mottling, with gilt lettering on the spine. Bound with some reading wear and a slight forward lean, stains at the edges, clean internally. The first printing of this reissue of Stead's first novel, one compared to Virginia Woolf's The Waves for its idiosyncratic style.
