Spine leans back just a bit. On page 99, line 21, the word "least" is missing. Bookplate on front pastedown. In the dust jacket, with with wear and chipping to top edge, and a 3" closed tear to the bottom edge. There is a large moisture stain on the rear panel of the dust jacket that affects the rear cover of the book. Jeffers achieved his greatest public acclaim in 1947 when this adaptation of Euripides’s Medea opened on Broadway, with Dame Judith Anderson playing the leading role. It was a major success and is still considered a mainstay of theatrical troupes.
