By Thomas H. Burrowes, Editor
Harrisburg, PA: A. Boyd Hamilton, 1855. Very Good. A solid copy of the 1855 1st edition. Tight and VG in its light-blue cloth, with decorative blindstamping to the panels, bright gilt-titling to the front panel. Very light scuffing at the spine and along the rear panel, mild browning and foxing to a number of the pages. The hundreds of illustrations though clean and sharp, as well as the lovely chromolithographed frontispiece. The handwritten name, address and date at the first blank endpaper of George S. Kelly, the Director of the Parker's Landing County School District in PA. Quarto, an impressive, very presentable piece of Americana.
