Marbled boards with red cloth spine, lots of rubbing and wear at edges, title inverted, foot of spine is partially perished and corners are moderately worn. Owner's contemporary ink inscription on front flyleaf ("A token of respect from Eliza M. Quick to John P. Mills"). Moderate wear on spine and extremities, spine nicked, with half-inch chip to leather at base of spine, rear hinge cracked and shaken (but intact), rear blank flyleaf torn (with loss to upper third of blank leaf); just a good, sound copy.
