Measuring 150 x 95mm. Slight sunning to spine and bumps to corners, else a tight, bright binding. Preliminary and terminal leaves foxed, with remainder of textblock fresh and unmarked. A pleasing copy.
Selected and annotated by Palgrave, the present selection was dedicated by the editor to Emily Lady Tennyson; and the lyrics he chooses are clearly governed by a desire to emphasize feminine beauty and goodness, as well as marital and filial love. To the Queen, A Dream of Fair Women, The May Queen, The Grandmother, and The Miller's Daughter are only a few examples of the lovely lyrics drawn together here.
