Endpapers illustrated with a facsimile of Brett Weston's signature. The spine is slightly rolled back, and the spine ends are gently bumped. There are several small stains to the fore-edge of the text block. The front endpaper is a little glue stained. In a dust jacket, with subtle toning, and a handful of small closed and open tears in the edges. The deepest tear is closed, measuring just under 2" deep. Errata slip tucked in.

Ex-libris California photographer Herb Quick, with his bookplate and name in pen on the front endpaper. Quick (1925-2006) was an instructor of photography at the University of California, Riverside. The Herbert "Herb" Quick collection is held at this university. Brett Weston (1911-) was the second son of photographer Edward Weston. Edward Weston took Brett to Mexico where he became his father's apprentice at the age of 13.
