Contemporary calf, blind rules to boards, eighteenth-century lettering piece, raised bands and blind fillets to boards. Light rubbing and faint staining to boards, moderate rubbing to extremities, small chip to foot of spine, corners bumped and somewhat worn, hinges cracked, a few cracks to text block. Moderate toning to interior, early markings and illegible early signatures to endleaves. $750. * First edition. Brown, clerk of the Court of Common Pleas and the author of several pleading manuals, was renowned, and continues to be today, for the depth of his knowledge.
