Studdy (1878-1948) studied art at Heatherley's Art School in London and animal anatomy and drawing at Calderon's Animal School. At the turn of the century he began to submit drawings for publication and contributed to numerous periodicals including Comic Cuts, The Big Budget Comic, Boy's Own, etc. He is best know for his creation of Bonzo, which brought him international fame.
