An invaluable record of what one class of women artists exhibited in 1895, under the instruction of prominent American artist Blanche Dillaye (1851-1932). Dillaye was a juggernaut in the Philadelphia art scene at a time when women were often excluded. She served in an official capacity at several prominent organizations, including PAFA (Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts).

The present catalogue lists the names of twenty-nine (29) of Dillaye's students, all women, and the works they exhibited, divided into the following categories: Water Colors; Charcoal Drawings; Pencil Sketches; and Primary Class (i.e. advanced students).
