London: S. Marks & Sons, 1850. Title caption reads Honi soit qui mal y pense (Shame on him who thinks ill of it”.) (Motto of the Order of the Garter). W. H. Harrisoon illustrator. A hand colored lithograph depicting an elegant woman with raised skirt promenading. A nearby Jack Tar quips "Beg pardon Miss; but shall i put a splice in it for yer." She replied "No, thank you Jack, I don't think you're able". Hmmm.. Reverse is blank. Measures 8 1/4" x 7 1/2". No OCLC or other online reference (August 2018). The crinoline, an oft mocked undergarment became a subject matter portrayed by S. Marks & Sons in the same manner as the vinegar valentine.
