This cartoon features two men inside the establishment of James Low Autographs, New York. One man curiously eyes a skull on a shelf of books, as the other responds "That? Oh, that's a leftover from more thoughtful days, I'm afraid!" Wilson originally published this cartoon in the New Yorker and created this duplicate for the famed autograph dealer James Lowe. The original cartoon featured "Pepper Stern Rare Books" on the window, and in this verson, Gahan customized the lettering on the door to accommodate Lowe's establishment. Accompanied by a photograph of Wilson holding up the original and the re-creation. Excellent condition.
