THE LITTLE REVIEW, Vol. III, No. 7

  • Chicago: Margaret C. Anderson, 1916
By Anderson, Margaret C.; Pound, Ezra; de Bosschère, Jean
Chicago: Margaret C. Anderson, 1916. First edition. Very good plus.. Spirited issue of the celebrated Modernist magazine, with work by Ezra Pound and Jean de Bosschère. Founded in 1914, THE LITTLE REVIEW soon gained a reputation for its experimental approach to art, literature, and politics alike - as "a decadent art magazine that delights in publishing the filth of contemporary writers," as Anderson later recalled THE NEW YORK TIMES putting it. This issue features work by Richard Aldington; co-publisher Jane Heap, signing herself "jh"; and Stefan Brazier; as well as Pound and de Bosschère. 9.5'' x 6.75''. Original saddle-stapled wrappers with green paper label mounted to front cover. 28 pages. Minor chipping to corners; several small tears along edges. Edges toned.
