By Dr. Seuss [Theodor Geisel]
New York: The Vanguard Press, 1938. Early printing. Hardcover. Very good/very good. Quarto [30.5 cm] 1/4 red cloth with black illustrated boards. White and red illustrated endpapers (hats of front endpaper go from small to large). Light rubbing to the edges of the spine and boards. In the illustrated dust jacket, with rubbing to the edges and folds, and occasional small closed tears and chipped to the edges, one of which has been backed with tape (a 1 1/2" closed tear at the head of the spine). Despite these flaws, the jacket is quite attractive. The price on the dust jacket is $2.50. No price listed for "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" on the rear inside flap. Early printing of Dr. Seuss's second book.
