Light rubbing and a few shallow scuffs to boards, moderate rubbing to extremities, light creasing and a few minor nicks to spine, which has residue from removed label at its foot, chipping to spine ends, rear joint starting at head, corners bumped, hinges starting, struck-through ownership signature to front free endpaper. Light toning to interior, very light foxing to a few leaves, occasional pencil underlining and marks to margins. $750. * First edition. An extensive treatise on commercial law for laymen, covering topics such as international law, insurance, principal and agent, bills of exchange and bankruptcy. It also includes a chapter on commercial politics based on the work of Adam Smith and Lord Kames. A second edition appeared in 1814. John Williams of the Inner Temple, was also the editor of a law-related periodical titled The Legal and Literary Journal, and Mercantile Magazine.
