(New York: Pictures Incorporated, 1937. Unbound. Very Good. Gelatin silver photograph. Measuring 9” x 7”. Modest wear, very good. Stamp and printed snipe on the verso. Images of strikers on the rooftop of Detroit’s Dodge plant sitting by their “crudely constructed cannon” and a sign reading “They Shall Not Pass.” The snipe notes that at that moment 20,000 union sympathizers were holding a demonstration in the street. The strikers had defied a court injunction ordering them to evacuate. A compelling image.
