By H. T. Lindeberg (Inroduction by Royal Cortissoz)
New York: William Helburn, 1940. 1/4 leather. Very Good. The 1940 1st edition, limited to 1,000 copies, of this lavish monograph on the work of American architect H.T. Lindeberg (1879-1959). Solid and VG in its 1/4 red leatherette over red cloth. Limited wear at the tips (down to the boards), mild wear along the spine ends and light scuffing to the rear panel. Still though, very presentable and internally, clean as could be, with no writing or markings of any kind. Crisp, captioned black-and-white photos --or the occasional floor plan-- along each verso and recto. Introduction by the American art critic Royal Cortissoz, who was the art critic for the New York Herald Tribune for almost 60 years, from 1891 until his death in 1948. Lindeberg was called by many the "American Lutyens" and specialized in opulent country houses.
