Franklin, Mass: Sentinel Job Print, 1891. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Broadside. Measuring 7¾" x 17¾". Very good with a couple of pencil notations and moderate creasing from being folded and mailed (see below), but with the paper bright and supple. A broadside announcing the opening of a clothing store in Cottage City, Massachusetts, now known as Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard. The store sold men's, women's and children's apparel "in abundance at bottom prices," with a pledge to "give the people of Cottage City and Vicinity Good Clothing Cheap." The broadside is accompanied by five letters from May Bartlett, a young woman vacationing in Cottage City, to her friend Tina Ashworth in Chelmsford, Massachusetts expressing familiar teenage indignation at her situation, along with various bits of local gossip.
