(Track Athletics, no. 3) Series (B&W photographs) One of ten books in this series (this being number 3), slim little volumes, each devoted to a single track and field event, and "illustrated from photographs by the author." There are nine pages of instructional tips on how to run a sprint race, following by a dozen full-page photographic plates depicting various athletes in various stages of a race. The runners depicted include R.C. Craig, shown (in Plate XII) tying the then-world's record for the 220-yard dash (21.2 seconds), and William Schick, "the famous Harvard sprinter." All books in this series are relatively scarce. .
