Early printing, no dates but prospectus to beginning of first volume with reviews dated 1866 and referencing up to volume III. Two volumes bound in six quartos. 1192, vi; 1199, [2] pp. 22 colored maps, complete. Bound in embossed publishers pebbled cloth with gilt decorations to front and spine; dark topstains; pale yellow endpapers.
Light wear with some minor fraying to extremities; corners bumped; bindings sound. Ownership inscriptions (Henry Patterson Rutherford) to preliminaries; foxing to endpapers, some gatherings uncut, and interior otherwise unmarked.
Overall a Very Good set of Wilson's substantial topographical dictionary, uncommon in original boards.
