By Charles Chauncy
Boston: Powars & Willis, 1784. Very Good. Boston: Powars & Willis, 1784. First Edition. Octavo; full contemporary calf over wood scaleboards recently rebacked, original endpapers retained; x,[11]-293pp. ([A]^4 B-2N^4, collated and complete). Brief loss of leather to extremities exposing scaleboard underneath, more so to rear cover, endpaper extremities quite darkened, contemporary ownership signature of an N. Significant contribution to the Congregationalist minister's prolific output in the 1780s regarding God and his chief characteristic, benevolence. Quite uncommon, last seen at auction in 1997.
