The present issue publishes news from their members doing missionary work in Africa, the Sandwich Islands, China, Syria, and Constantinople, among other locations. Includes an article about the "Excesses of the Koords--Slaughter and Capitivity of the Nestorians", infanticide in China, and schooling in West Africa, as well as news from missionaries with the Sioux nation. An important record of missionary activity.
Three issues, each 8vo (9.75" by 6"), approx. thirty pages each, sewn in the original printed brown wrappers with title and contents on upper wrapper. The American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions was founded in 1810, and was a Congregationalist organization devoted to supporting missionary work domestically and internationally.
