This has not been examined out of the frame. Distributed by John Lind the Currier and Ives agent for Utah. 18 vignette portraits by the legendary firm of Currier and Ives. Based on images by Charles Roscoe Savage (1832-1909) of members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve. The eighteen portraits are identified beneath and within a decorative border. Those shown are: Orson Pratt, John Taylor, Orson Hyde, Charles C. Rich, Joseph Smith, Hyrum Smith, Wilford Woodruff, Joseph F. Smith, Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, George Q. Cannon, Franklin D. Richards, Willard Richards, Daniel H. Wells, George A. Smith, Erastus Snow, Albert Carrington, Brigham Young Jr. and Lorenzo Snow. Nathaniel Currier began his lithographic business in 1836, and was joined by James Ives in 1852. They are best known for their over 7,400 prints, which they called 'Engravings for the People.' This broadside is rare. We locate two institutional copies (LDSCHL & BYU). This is the first time that we have handled this item.
