By Andre Gide
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1930. Boards. Near Fine/Very Good +. A sharp, tight copy of the 1930 1st American edition of arguably the Nobel prize winner's best-known work, translated from its original French by Dorothy Bussy. Clean and Near Fine in a crisp, price-intact ($2.50), VG+ dustjacket, with very light chipping along the front panel's top-edge and mild darkening at the spine. Still though, very presentable. Gide's masterwork, including his narrator's disaffections with conventional society and strong udercurrents of homosexual desire.
