The Connecticut Town-Officer; in Three Parts

  • Full calf
  • Danbury, CT , 1814
By Samuel Whiting, Esq
Danbury, CT, 1814. Full calf. Very Good. The 1814 1st edition, in its 3 separate parts. Part I: "The Powers and Duties of Towns, as Set Forth in the Statutes of Connecticut, Which Are Recited"; Part II: "The Powers and Duties of the Several Town Officials, with a Variety of Forms for the Use of Such Officers"; and Part III: "The Powers and Duties of Religious and School Societies, and Their Several and Respective Officers, with Suitable Forms". Bound in a contemporary-to-the-perod full calf, with light scuffing and staining, and a small, inconspicuous former owner name in pencil along the front panel's top-edge. Internally, minor, forgiveable foxing and offsetting. Light offsetting as well along the pastedown and endpaper edges. 16mo, a nice piece of Americana, specifically of early 19th century Connecticut legislative history.
