By [VIETNAM WAR] ALBRIGHT, John, [with] John A. Cash; Allan W. Sandstrum
Washington D.C.: Office of The Chief of Military History, United States Army, 1970. First Edition. 8vo. 23.5cm x 15cm. Publisher's yellow pictorial card covers titled and decorated in red to spine and covers. Minor scuffing and edgewear, a little grubbiness to the card, strong and bright, a very good copy. 159pp. Internally clean. The first printing of a much reprinted after action analysis of seven notable firefights in Vietnam between 1965 and 1968. Primarily intended to give "a measure of vicarious experience" as Brigadier General Pattison states in his foreword, this slim volume offers eyewitness accunts, expert assessment of strategy, good and bad, and perhaps most valuably considering that when this pamphlet was issued the war would continue for another 5 years, an idea of how diverse and potentially unconventional military encounters in Vietnam could be.
