1890. Photograph. Near Fine. Lovely vintage photograph (1890) of the historic Wainwright Building of St. Louis, designed by master architect Louis Sullivan (1856-1924, "the Father of Skyscrapers", "the Father of Modernism") and "credited for representing the first successful utilization of steel frame construction". The photo, clean and handsome in its crisp black-and-white, measures 7 1/2" wide x 9 1/2" tall. The picture was "supplied and mounted by Rudolf Lesch Fine Arts Inc. of Fifth Ave., New York". The dark-gray matting shows one thin crease running vertically down the mat, otherwise clean and eminently presentable.
