McVie joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970, two years after after marrying bassist John McVie, having already contributed backup vocals and painted the cover art for the band's third album, "Kiln House." She wrote several key releases for the band, most notably "Over My Head" and "Say You Love Me" on the band's self-titled 1975 album, and "Don't Stop" and "You Make Loving Fun" for the 1977 smash hit "Rumors."
