Bartholomew was an English-American child actor whose career was active mostly in the 1930s. His most well-known film roles were "Little Lord Fauntleroy" (1936), "Captain Courageous" (1936), and "David Copperfield" (1935). After a legal battle with his estranged parents and serving in the military in World War II, he moved into working behind the cameras in television until his retirement in the 1980s.
