[TYPESCRIPTS] THREE LECTURES, WITH HANDWRITTEN ANNOTATIONS AND CORRECTIONS BY REYNOLDS PRICE

By Reynolds Price
Three typescripts of lectures (and question and answer sessions) given by Reynolds Price, professor of English Literature at Duke for over 50 years and author of fiction, poetry, and memoirs. The lectures were given at Hendrix College, a small liberal arts college in Arkansas. They are all annotated and corrected by Mr. Price. ~~~Reynolds Price was a kind and compassionate writer. At the same time he didn't fail to articulate truth as he saw it -- in his Founders' Day speech in 1992 he asserted that students at Duke were enthusiastic about partying but indifferent to a thoughtful life. These lectures are so very thoughtful, and seeing them in the form of transcriptions with excisions, corrections, additions, etc. provides great fodder for the study of this thought. With a 5 x 7: black and white publicity photograph.~~~~.
