At the time of this trial, Goddard, later an associate justice of the Colorado Supreme Court, was an elected judge of the 5th Judicial District. Goddard's trial was the result of an accusation that he promised to appoint a donor court clerk if elected in exchange for a campaign contribution. Goddard was acquitted. This is a scarce title.
