This copy is warmly inscribed by Zelinsky to a reader "who loves romance and fairy tales - with pleasure" followed by his signature. The jacket describes the book as drawing on elements from early French and Italian sources as well as from the Grimms. In this book the esteemed and much awarded illustrator Zelinsky selected a setting drawn from the formal beauty of Italian Renaissance art to create his magnificent illustrations. Bound in glossy illustrated paper boards with a pictorial dust jacket depicting Rapunzel in her tower. The book and dust jacket are in near fine condition. Measures 9.5 x 12.5 inches.
