An early jacket design by Hubert Rogers, who became a renowned science fiction pulp illustrator in the 1940s, most notably for the cover art of Gray Lensman by E.E. Smith. He also contributed cover artwork for Astounding Science Fiction, Adventure, and Argosy, and created a number of Canadian war posters during World War II (source: The Korshak Collection). A novel of political intrigue in South America, by the author most well known for his historical works on World War I.
