Small octavo; in contemporary calf with a morocco label; frontispiece of a horse's skeleton; vi, [3], xiv-xvi, [1], 18-192, [1]; there is mild foxing throughout; three old cuts to the leather on the rear board, and with staining to the fore edge of the textblock; there is a discreet repair at the top of the front joint.~~A more than acceptable First Edition copy, contemporary with Richard Mason's popular New Gentleman's Farrier, with references to it made by Ware. With practical directions for purchasing, breeding, riding gracefully, surgically operating, and diagnosing and curing various maladies: from the insidious "Hungry Evil" to the cyclical "Moon Eyes". ~~A rather uncommon book, particularly in presentable condition.
