Laura Gilpin (1891-1979), born in Colorado, was a 1917 graduate of the Clarence H. White School of Photography. Her career of fifty years was varied and wide-ranging, and established her as one of the most outstanding photographers of our time. In The Enduring Navaho, Gilpin captures the spirit and the land of the people with photographs accompanied by text filled with personal reminiscences of the author's experiences among the people. Signed by Laura Gilpin on the half-title.
