Cedar Falls, Iowa: J.S. Latta, Inc, 1900. Good to very good. Toned. Envelope chipped and worn with short tears.. A sample set of four (4) sewing cards, housed in the original printed envelope, promoting "Latta's Sewing Cards". A common activity in many Kindergarten settings was to ask students to sew shapes into perforated pieces of card. This set was sent to teachers as a free promotion. This copy contains four cards with: a reindeer, chick, tulip, star, cat with message ("scratch my back"), bow and arrow, boy, and (inexplicably) a duck in a dress. J.S. Latta, Inc. provided pedagogical materials for teachers via mail-order system, making them ideal for educators in rural areas.
