[modest wear at the extremities, but generally a pretty nice copy, with a contemporary (1927) gift inscription on the front endpaper; the jacket has a number of closed tears at top and bottom edges of front panel and several chips at top and bottom edges of rear panel, but is substantially complete (including a rear-panel illustration of the front covers of four of Gross's books, including this one)]. (cartoon drawings) Milt Gross gives the Clement Moore Christmas classic his faux-Yiddish treatment. Must be read aloud, and with gusto, to get the full ethnic-comedic effect! The (non-authorial) gift inscription reads: "To Aunt Mary / with love and / a bark from / your Nephew / Jeff / Xmas 1927." .
