A valuable book for all sick people to read", presented by the Stone Sanitarium and Hospital and its founder, Dr. Guy Stone. The illustrated booklet advertises the sanitarium as a haven for the chronically ill, treating and curing every disease from appendicitis and bowel troubles to kidney diseases and "female troubles" (p. 6). Each affliction is given a longer description and discussion in the rear. Includes interesting case studies that showcase the sanitorium's success, descriptions of each department, and ends with a call to action: "Why not take an inventory of yourself?" (p. 64). 12mo (6.75" by 5.25"), pp. 64, with photo-illustrations, sewn in original printed wrappers. Early ink to lower wrapper. Stone Sanitarium and Hospital was founded by Dr. Guy Stone after he purchased a residential property in Fargo circa 1920. It contained the following seven departments: non-surgical treatment; medical treatment; surgical; bath; X-Ray; prescription; and clinical.
