Austin: W. Thomas Taylor, 1987. leather_bound. Dos-A-Dos bindings fine housed in a fine beige cloth clamshell box with brown leather spine label. 130 pages. 24 x 16 cm. With an Introduction by John P. Chalmers and Edited by Elaine B. Smyth. Dos-A-Dos binding -- Limited edition, one of 40 copies printed on Gampi Torinoko and specially bound in dark green morocco with brown onlays by Silvia Rennie. The author was remembered by readers of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's "Confessions" as the sexagenarian friend who attempted the seduction of Rousseau's companion. The English translation, though not strictly literal, follows the French closely, preserving it stylistic characteristics. The text transcribed exactly from the Bibliotheque publique et universitaire de Geneve. The three cover bindings, two as pictured here, and a third interior with only two brown inlays.
