[IN DUTCH] Jacobus van Looy (1855-1930) was a Dutch painter and writer who worked as a literary editor and had approximately a dozen publications. Very scarce outside of The Netherlands. The Rhymed Story of the Sleigh is the second of the New Annexes to the Wonderful Adventures of Zebedee. It was printed for Palladium, in an edition of 300 copies, under the direction of J. van Krimpen. Printed in red and black on handmade paper from Haesbeek. ASSOCIATION COPY: From the library of Ary Baggerman (1905-1972) Dutch pen draftsman, illustrator, watercolorist, graphic artist, and painter noted for his still lifes. Ex Libris Ary Baggerman bookplate on inside front wrapper. The stylized bookplate was designed in 1950 by Cor de Wolff (1889-1963), another Dutch artist who was a painter and practiced many graphic techniques, including woodcuts. Unique. General copies are very scarce outside The Netherlands. Small quarto. Brown paper wrappers with title in black to front wrapper. Front wrapper is partially split from spine. There is a crease at bottom right edge of wrapper, some small chips to wrapper, and some handling marks on front and back wrappers.
