First published in 1985; per the copyright page, this printing "contains the expansion added in 1990," and per the front cover blurb it's been "expanded to include print & digital." Given the stated date of printing (2005), this must have been the last printing done during Eisner's lifetime (he died in January of that year, but the rear-cover biographical blurb still refers to him in the present (living) tense). .
